Chuck started his career as Delaware’s Deputy Attorney General followed by a period of time in private practice where he worked on Wills, Trusts and Estates and provided corporate representation. At this same time, he also was engaged in a diverse general practice including criminal defense, personal injury and defense work.
Then he worked as in-house counsel for a life and health insurance company, creating a well-rounded background. This was followed by three terms in the House of Representatives. In 2000, Chuck (The Honorable Charles W. Welch) was appointed as a judge for the State of Delaware Court of Common Pleas.
Chuck graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in accounting and then went on to receive his law degree from Villanova University. Chuck and his wife live in central Delaware where they raised two children.
